Caroline Fairweather is an actor, director, playwright, and devised theatre-maker based in NYC and the Berkshires of Western MA. Caroline enjoys reimagining classic works and devising new ones.

About me

I’m a multidisciplinary artist based in Queens, NYC. As both an actor and a director, I hope to make theatre that explores the borders and margins of humanity through super-human forms— what can robots, vampires, living dolls, and other mystical beings teach us about what it means to be our most authentic selves in America and beyond? How can our super-humanity create solidarity with one another, within a normative structure, through magic and love?

I’m a member of The Forest of Arden, a group focused on creating innovative site-specific and immersive work. I was also a founding member of Ghostlit Repertory Theatre Company based in South Egremont, MA, where I collaborated with members of the Berkshire theatre community to stage premiere musical theatre works for local audiences.

I made my Broadway debut in the Tony-winning 2023 revival Parade as a Swing and Dance Captain, and recently returned from the First National Tour, which closed September 7th, 2025.

I regularly assist Tony-Award-winning director Michael Arden. In 2024, I was the Assistant Director of the Pre-Broadway World Premiere of The Queen of Versailles choreographed by Lauren Yalango Grant and Cree Grant, which I continued with through the Broadway run at the St. James in 2025, as well as for the acclaimed Broadway production of Maybe Happy Ending at the Belasco Theater in 2024. I continue to assist on various other new works in development, and am excited to jump into The Lost Boys this spring.

This fall, I adapted and directed a new adaption of J. Sheridan Le Fanu’s Victorian vampire novella Carmilla for a backyard in East Williamsburg. The outdoor production utilized FM radio technology to allow audiences to experience a fully-scored and pre-recorded sonic world as actors lip synced to their own text. Other works in development include Jenny’s Doll Hospital, a queer new chamber musical about Victorian dolls by Kara Hadden & Sara Stebbins, and Red Giant, a new musical by Cathryn Wake in which the Roman Gods are personified as an all-girl actor-musician rock band.

I regularly lead drop-in training sessions in the Suzuki Method of Actor Training in NYC after having attended the Suzuki Company’s intensive in Togamura, Japan in 2018 and 2024.

Regionally, I’m proud to have worked at Barrington Stage Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Pittsfield Shakespeare in the Park, Theater Barn, Mixed Company, Berkshire Theatre Group, Shakespeare & Company, Madison Lyric Stage, and Ghostlit Repertory Theatre Company. I hold a BA in Theatre with Highest Honors from Williams College.
